A cache is a file in your reader´s computer that  store Web pages from his or her last visit to a particular Web site. Then, if the reader wants to go to the same site again, instead of waiting for a page to download, the reader´s computer can simply use the copy from the cache, sometimes saving as much as 10 or 20 seconds. The user has complete control of how big the cache is and how often it is emptied.

The essential tool of the web. The browser is the software program that runs on your computer and lets you see Web pages. Internet Explorer and Netscape are the two most common browser.
